Melodic pop punkers, Oppkast from Kristiansand, Norway have recently released their 5 track S/T EP in March and are already getting set to release their first LP “C2H5OH” on December 1, 2019.
The new album has definitely made some progression from their last EP. The vocals and overall energy is great and you can sense that they have been working hard on the guitar progression throughout the album. I love to see bands that continually strive to get better with every release. They hit the style and enthusiasm of your headlining skate punk bands here in the States like NOFX, Lagwagon and No Use For A Name. Mark your calendars for December 1st and pick up a copy of C2H5OH!
We don’t have a single off of the new album to share yet so here is a the link to their latest EP on Spotify.
Oppkast members all come from different music backgrounds/bands ranging from pop, rock to metal. Even though most of them already play in other serious bands, Oppkast is the fun band where five friends get together and let out some sweat, smells and fast songs!
The sound is influenced by NoFX, Millencolin, No use for a Name, Nirvana (basically all 90´s grunge and punk) and sometimes, but only sometimes, Blink182.
The band has delivered their energized set to crowds around southern Norway with positive feedback after every show. This in return has helped them pay for their beers, which has led to some good stories, which has led to a couple of songs, which will hopefully lead to some more gigs and then that will then hopefully lead to some more beers and some more stories and some more songs and then some more gigs etc… the perfect band evolution!
They released their debut single “Alltid tid for pils” on the 31st December 2018 and their first self-titled EP, “Oppkast”, is set to be released on the 1st of March 2019. There is also rumours about a full album coming soon…
