10 Year Old Ice Dancer Stuns With Breathtaking Performance To Alexandra Burke’s “Hallelujah”
Figure skating stands out as one of the most graceful and artistic Olympic disciplines. While competitors face immense challenges mastering technical elements, top skaters glide across the ice with apparent ease. Elite performers exceed basic jumps and spins, expressing genuine emotion through their routines.
Meet Veronika Zhilina, a Russian skater whose stunning interpretation of Alexandra Burke's "Hallelujah" has captured worldwide attention online. Her performance delivers such profound emotional impact that viewers are left astonished to learn she was just ten years old at the time.
Born on May 15, 2008, in Arkhangelsk, Russia, Veronika began her skating journey early. Her mother Ludmilla introduced her to the ice at only three years old. She displayed natural talent from the beginning, and soon her younger sister Alena joined them on this path. Despite the rigorous training schedule figure skating demands, both girls embraced the discipline out of genuine love for the sport.
The family remained in Arkhangelsk until 2018 before relocating to Moscow, where Veronika trained under renowned coaches Sergei Dudakov, Sergei Rozanov and Eteri Tutberidze. Her talent quickly became evident as she won the junior division at the Russian Younger Age Championships just a year later, then successfully defended her title the following year.
When coach Sergei Rozanov moved to the Academy Angels of Plushenko, both Veronika and Alena followed, joining skater Alexandra Trusova. Since then, Veronika has collected numerous victories and high placements in Russian competitions, potentially preparing for international competition soon.
Her "Hallelujah" routine showcases her exceptional artistic abilities. She enters carrying a light, waving it gracefully overhead while audience members join with their own lights, creating a special connection. As she places her light on the ice and begins skating, her performance becomes magical. Veronika moves with fluid grace, her white dress and blonde hair creating an angelic image. Her transitions appear effortless, as if she merges with the ice itself. The perfectly designed routine captures the song's essence completely, resulting in a must-see performance.
