11 year old singer jumps on stage with Bon Jovi to perform “Wanted Dead Or Alive” at German music festival
In 2013, Bon Jovi performed his major hit "Wanted Dead Or Alive" at a live show in Stuttgart, Germany after noticing an 11-year-old child holding a sign that said, "Jon, do you dare to rock with me to 'Wanted' on stage?" The young boy got a chance to join the band at the Cannstatter Wasen Festival for an incredible experience to perform with his top musical idols, in a video that has gained over 2.45 million YouTube views. The fair-haired youngster, Marco, appears wearing a leather jacket, black band t-shirt, worn jeans, and an American flag bandana tied around his neck. A brief exchange happens between Jon Bon Jovi (aged 51 then) and Marco, with Jon asking, "Do you know who I am?" Marco remains quiet, prompting Jon to joke, "I'm not Justin Bieber, y'know. I'm not even Justin Timberlake," despite Jon selling about 32 million more records than Timberlake.
Jon introduces his shy guest as "Jon Bon Marco" before starting the famous opening notes of the chosen song on a black acoustic guitar. A funny moment occurs when Marco tries to take the microphone but Jon playfully keeps it for a few musical bars each time. When the boy finally receives the mic from Jon, his singing proves remarkable, especially with the support of the entire enthusiastic Bon Jovi audience.
From the beginning, Marco displays his vocal talent, cowboy-style vibrato, and perfect pitch as fans shout the lyrics with him, giving the 11-year-old his first experience as a festival headliner.
Jon and his band members appear sincerely happy to welcome Marco onstage and fulfill the boy's wishes. When Marco almost sings during the guitar solo section, Jon gently guides him to watch Phil X perform his famous solo, who plays while showing the biggest grin readers will likely see today.
One commenter noted, "Jon is not only a legendary rock n' roll star, but the most humble and nicest soul ever" for creating a lasting memory for Marco and the band, who beam throughout the performance, amazed by Marco's abilities. Another fan added, "Bon Jovi understands that it ain't about selling out and playing the bare minimum, not interacting with your fans and the people who are the reason you get paid crazy amounts of cash. It proves that the guy is a class act with a heart of gold."
