Similar to all icons, John Travolta has certainly matured wonderfully over time. The 65-year-old actor demonstrated his enduring dancing abilities when he delivered a playful tutorial to James Corden. The segment began with Corden questioning the British celebrity pair Aaron and Sam Taylor-Johnson about their Halloween costumes as John Travolta and Uma Thurman's Pulp Fiction characters. Sam and Corden then praised the renowned film, which contains a famous dance sequence featuring Travolta and Thurman. Corden subsequently invited Travolta to provide a dance lesson.

During his prime, Travolta dominated dance scenes in films like Grease and Saturday Night Fever, and he showed everyone watching that he still retained his dancing skills. Travolta instructed the other three participants in various dances, including the twist, the swim, the hip shaker, the mashed potatoes, and finally, the Batman. Though a basic segment, Travolta's charm completely elevated it, making it truly enjoyable to watch.

Travolta presented his dance class on The Late Late Show with James Corden in an episode uploaded on December 5, 2019. The uplifting segment gained popularity on Corden's YouTube channel, attracting 18.9 million views. Viewers were delighted to see Travolta dancing again and left comments such as "The man's still got it – you never lose class" and "John Travolta should be declared as a national treasure. Love the guy, so nice, iconic, resilient and positive."

Travolta and Thurman's dance scene in the Quentin Tarantino-directed Pulp Fiction stands as one of cinema's most memorable moments. In the movie, Travolta portrays professional criminal Vincent Vega, tasked with entertaining his boss's wife Mia Wallace, played by Thurman. They visit a venue where Mia insists on joining the dance competition, and they dance to Chuck Berry's "You Never Can Tell." The moves Travolta shows on Corden's program appear in the original scene.

The Corden segment revealed interesting information about Travolta's contribution to creating the Pulp Fiction dance scene. The star explained, "Quentin was dead set on both of us doing the twist, which is a very fun dance, but it's limited in how long one wants to watch someone doing the twist." Travolta added, "So I said to Quentin, when I was growing up there were novelty dances, like the swim and the Batman. I said 'maybe we should widen the spectrum on this.'" After viewing Travolta's novelty dances, the director was convinced, and thus the classic dance scene was created.
