Quebec performer Gabriella Laberge entered her America's Got Talent tryout with big dreams that nearly collapsed immediately. Following an uneasy initial chat, Laberge delivered a nice violin piece that resembled what street musicians commonly play. Simon Cowell's hand moved toward his red button, ready to eliminate her, but Laberge revealed her hidden talent. She began singing James Blunt's "Goodbye My Lover" with a gentle, heartfelt voice that filled the room. Cowell quickly pulled back from the buzzer as the panel grew fond of the Montreal artist. Laberge enhanced the song's folk qualities, adding vocal character and her personal touch to the famous track. She smoothly shifted to a violin solo during the bridge, then increased the intensity for the finale, earning a standing applause.

Laberge, aged 28 when she auditioned, made a smart selection with "Goodbye My Lover." The track showcased both her singing and instrument skills, plus her capacity to create an emotional link through her genuine performance. All four judges pressed their buttons, sending a delighted Laberge to the next stage.

Judge Howie Mandell expressed his approval during her bridge solo, saying "Wow, I love this," while online viewers shared positive remarks like "She's amazing, plays the violin like a master, sings like an angel, is beautiful to the eye... she's the entire package." This wasn't Laberge's first major performance - her blind audition singing Coldplay's "The Scientist" on The Voice France in 2016 became the fourth most viewed audition on the show's YouTube channel.

Before her performance, Laberge shared her journey: "Growing up I was watching America's Got Talent every week, so never in my life would I expect to be here. This is the opportunity of my life to chase my biggest dream, which is doing music for the rest of my life." On stage, she told the panel, "I think the American dream could come true and I've been dreaming of that moment since I can remember."

Her audition succeeded with unanimous approval from the judges. However, she couldn't advance further as the panel cut her during selections for the top 36 contestants. Laberge found greater success on The Voice France, reaching the quarter-finals in season five.

Laberge achieved additional success by reaching the semifinals in Destination Eurovision 2019, the competition that selects France's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest. She participated with her composition "On cherche encore (Never Get Enough)."

The Quebec vocalist demonstrates exceptional musical ability through both her singing talent and violin expertise. Her tender and emotive rendition of James Blunt's "Goodbye My Lover" will likely impress listeners. Fans should keep track of her upcoming shows!
