Taylor Swift surprises 96 year old WWII veteran & superfan for Christmas
Music sensation Taylor Swift shocked 96-year-old World War II veteran and devoted fan Cyrus Porter with an unexpected Christmas visit, arriving to chat and perform a song. She entered to wild applause, and after the excited screams quieted, she delivered an acoustic rendition of her popular track "Shake It Off" in a joyful, group singing experience.
Swift began by offering holiday greetings to the family and giving high-fives to the children, then told Mr. Porter, "My father showed me your video where you expressed interest in attending a concert. I'm not certain when our next tour begins, so I decided to perform here and take some song requests."
Swift, who brought her parents along, conversed with Mr. Porter and mentioned her grandfather had also served in World War II. Mr. Porter expressed his disbelief at her presence, and showed his remarkable agility at 96 by standing to share a brief war story with everyone.
She then grabbed her guitar and performed an energetic version of "Shake It Off," with youngsters dancing and family members joining in song.
Relative Chris Porter shared the video online with compliments for Swift, noting, "Taylor Swift showed herself as someone with exceptional integrity and character. She entered the room quietly without seeking attention. She appeared grateful and touched by our enthusiastic cheering. She even seemed modest about our welcome."
Swift has a reputation for meeting fans personally and has made numerous similar visits to small gatherings. Online supporters praised her generosity, with comments such as "She is a truly kind and unpretentious person who sincerely enjoys people. What a wonderful memory for all of you," and "This made me cry. The most heartwarming thing I've seen recently. It truly touched my heart."
