This 3-year-old drummer leads an entire orchestra
Three-year-old drums his way into the hearts of the audience and grumbles when daddy says: stop!
Leading an whole orchestra
Lyonya Shilovsky was only one year old when started playing the drums. He had his first big appearance on the Russian talent show “Minute Of Fame”.
It's truly extraordinary what little Lyonya Shilovsky from Novosibirsk shows us in this video. Young Lyonya was perfectly dressed for the occasion, and was led onto the stage by his father. Wearing a bow tie and the cutest mohawk ever. He was barely visible behind the drum kit, and the drumsticks looked huge in his small hands.
At just three years old, he plays Offenbach's “Orpheus in the Underworld”, also known as “Can-Can”, on his drum kit, and leads the Novosibirsk Symphony Orchestra as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Even the fact that he drops one of his drumsticks doesn't bother him. Lyonya relies entirely on his hearing when playing – and on his father, who occasionally “whispers” a few beats to him. After a one-minute solo, his dad tells him that he has played enough for now. His reaction to this is also great.
Talented and driven
At the end of this performance, Lyonya gave an encore and was brought back on stage by the conductor to bow to the impressed audience. The applause was long and loud, showing how much the audience had enjoyed his performance. For anyone wondering if this is too much for a child, don't worry. Throughout the entire performance, Lyonya's father was at his side, and his mother watched everything carefully from the audience. Most notably, Lyonya is supported, but his passion for music is clearly his own drive.
The video of his performance has been viewed over 62 million times on YouTube. You can find more of Lyonya's performances on his YouTube channel.
