Someone should dial the authorities because a theft occurred at this Kelly Clarkson performance! Indeed, these two crooning law enforcement agents completely 'took over' the event at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Kansas Capitol Police Officers LaMont Jackson and Michael Pagel performed Ben E. King's timeless hit "Stand By Me" on the platform during the show, with all attendees, including Clarkson, joining in and enjoying the positive energy of the occasion.

Jackson and Pagel earlier became internet sensations for their version of Carpool Karaoke in their patrol vehicle, and Clarkson admired their vocal talents so much she felt compelled to welcome them onstage when she visited Kansas City. Their abilities impressed viewers as the officers can both sing and engage with an audience effectively. Jackson especially entertained the crowd, moving to each section of the stage and then directing the audience in a group sing-along, encouraging them to sway their arms to the rhythm.

KCCI NewsChannel 8 shared the officers' performance at Clarkson's concert on YouTube, where it gained 1.8 million views. Pagel later discussed the event on the Kansas Capitol Police Twitter account, stating, "It's not a secret anymore. Words can't even explain how much fun Officer Jackson and I had last night at the Sprint Center. Wow. A big shoutout and thank you to Kelly Clarkson for inviting us."

You can watch Pagel and Jackson's first viral performance in their patrol car in the video below. Pagel told WIBW-TV that he created the karaoke concept while thinking of ways to increase his organization's social media visibility. Pagel then complimented Lamont's voice, noting "I've seen other karaoke videos online but everybody else was lip syncing and thought we had a secret weapon that could actually sing so I recruited Lamont and he agreed to do it."

Readers will likely agree that Lamont possesses an outstanding voice. The singing officer appears to excel with classic songs, as in his initial viral Carpool Karaoke session, he performed L.T.D.'s 1976 R&B song "Love Ballad." In a subsequent karaoke session, he sang the 1978 Grease hit "Summer Nights" with Melissa Brunner. Lamont then selected an even older track for his successful performance with Clarkson, singing the 1961 Ben E. King R&B classic "Stand by Me."
